Performing Shakespeare

The workshop looks at the place and purpose of rhythm in Shakespeare, what to do with (and within) the iambic pentameter, how Shakespeare instructs actors (on character, voice, intention, stage direction) in the way he writes. The workshop operates from the position that Shakespeare only makes sense as performance and not as written text. An active workshop where participants will have the opportunity to perform and rework a monologue or scene from the Bard in a supportive, generous, and encouraging environment
